April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month, but perhaps it is time to shift the conversation from awareness to something deeper: acceptance. Awareness simply acknowledges that autism exists. Acceptance, however, invites us to understand, embrace and create space for individuals on the autism spectrum to live fully, authentically and without judgment. It calls us to move beyond labels and lean into compassion.
