Lawrence T. Walker was born in Columbus, GA, and raised in Birmingham, AL. As the third-oldest of ten children, Walker’s love for his family stemmed from their strong values rooted in civil rights, community, exposure, equality, and culture; these were his first heroes. In a recent interview with the L.A. Sentinel, Walker discussed his graphic novel “Earth Encounters: The Arrival,” the preservation of Black American History, and how his work is intended to motivate young voters.
